...because if it feels holy. It is.

And in a Holy Week, this feels holy…

So…my church has closed the doors to our community – to keep us all safe. And yet, the needs of the faithful have not stopped. Overnight, my coworkers and I have morphed from…

ministers of music or social justice, coordinators of faith formations for adults, youth or children, secretaries or parish administrators, priests or deacons to…

social media specialists, IT analysts, videographers and producers.

We are learning! We are adapting! We are amaaaazzzzingg! Our faith is strong. Our hearts are in it. It feels chaotic and a little crazy.

It also feels holy. And so it is.

So…while the work of justice and charity never change, my job- the way I do it and the hours I put in - has changed. And I know, I know, it could be worse. But, hey, it’s a real and tangible loss…

It feels like grief and loss. And so it is.

So…I started a paper prayer chain to connect my faith community. And people I know, and those I don’t know, have emailed, texted and messaged their most intimate prayers to me. It feels like I know their hearts.

It feels holy. And so it is.

A friend in Haiti texted to say that in his country there have been many problems because of political leaders and power struggles, and now with COVID 19, they must figure out a way to help each other…that maybe this is all about waking up the human species – to collaborate not because of fear but because of Love…

And that feels holy. And it is.

So…what is feeling holy for you? What makes your heart ache? Where is your joy? Where is your “holy” in Holy Week?

Because, if it feels holy. It is.

Peaceful Diane
