Together we traveled, it is our offering to the Lord.

When Diane told me about the experience of this virtual tour between Virginia and Haiti, I found it to be an awesome idea and I quickly accepted to bring the final reflection. I read the countless reflections on the blog with utmost care. They are a true spiritual growth while we were touring spiritually during this Lent Season.
I realized that no matter the numerous kilometers from Virginia to Haiti we were united in this tour during which we were called to support each other. On the path we are condemned to advance not in solitary but solidarity with each other. The geographical distance, the mountains, none of these can stop us from doing this tour together. Tiredness, pain, obstacles won't be lacking and they will pop up like temptations to discourage and make us think of quitting and that's where solidarity comes into play, the presence of others will reassure us. They will relieve us if need be and hold our hands when our strength is failing.
Obviously, none is sheltered from experiencing lassitude and at this point a comrade will always be present and this comrade none other than our Heavenly Father put him/her by your side, in other words he does for you instead of our Heavenly Father.
That made me think of the Via Crucis that we revisit during Lent and more so on Good Friday. On the Via Crucis several people helped our Savior. Simon of Cyrene helped him carry the cross, Veronique wiped his face. Others walked with Him in silence but their presence comforted him. These supports are different but not insignificant in our Savior's walk to the cross and their true value will come up in what happens after the cross: The Resurrection. All who supported him during his Calvary couldn't think they were accompanying Him toward the Resurrection which is Life and this Life is also theirs, so when we do the tour together taking care of each other even if the road is not easy, no matter how long it takes we will make it to the finish line and we will all be winners.
A travel is always a great challenge, the path can be tortuous, sometimes we have to climb mountains but the Lord is always there with us. Our two dioceses did the spiritual journey during this Lent season while keeping their eyes on Christ resurrected. We are both enriched by this experience and it strengthen us by making us see that not only our Heavenly Father travel with us but on the path, we are invited to let others see Him through us.
After this wonderful spiritual tour, we need to take a good breath of air before restarting anew. In the meanwhile, let's keep meeting physically through our visits to Virginia and Haiti to reaffirm our bonds and explore the ways to live concretely our faith in Christ.
No matter how black Friday is Sunday will always come for He lives so our salvation can be.
Happy Easter to all!!
