In Virginia as in Haiti, every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath and start again.

The steps of the teacher who walks miles from her home to school each morning and again each afternoon…feel so distant from my steps to and from my car that delivers me to work each day. The steps of the farmer who walks miles to market to sell his goods…feel so far from my steps that lead me through the market to fill my cart each week. The steps of the pastor who walks miles from the parish to offer a blessing and to touch the head and hands of those who pray for healing…feel so far from my steps.

May we be touched by God’s grace with every step - as we start again.
